Reconnected, and it feels so good!

As September nears the halfway point, and the seasons start to turn, I once again find myself eager to celebrate life and hedonism. So, I'm back and so are the pictures of decadent meals.

This one is in memory of all the years I spent in a tropical environment, hating every day. Now that I'm moving closer to the Canadian border, I wish I could say I missed it, but I really, really don't. Still, the fruit looks delicious, and definitely yummy!

Sometimes, you just have to have beef. And potatoes. And to make Mom happy, salad. In celebration of 50 yummy dishes, I give you the quintessential meat-and-potatoes dinner. . .

(and 50th, but who's counting?) I've been fascinated with baking potatoes cut into slices. Most of the time, I see instructions for adding slivers of garlic to each piece, but I just don't have the patience to slice garlic, then parcel it out in slivers. This first pic comes with instructions and looks delightful. The second pic is one of my dream breakfast spreads, in honor of a friend who served crepes at his birthday party.

I came across this pic today and now I cannot wait to try it! Bacon and egg pizza! I'm sure this isn't the first time someone has come up with this delicious idea, but it is the first time I've seen it, and it looks incredible!

Today's meal is desert. Not just any desert, but a waffle desert! I first had a Swedish desert waffle when I was about 10 years old. Now, every once in a while, I crave them! Yet, every time I buy one at the store, it tastes nothing like the confection that still (occasionally) haunts my dreams. In the hopes of replacing it with something a little more attainable (I do, after all, have a waffle maker; I just need to experiment. . .) here is today's Yummy pic: waffles and ice cream, mango infused. . .

Well, sometimes, wishes are granted! Here are coconut prawns and seared scallop wontons, beautifully cooked and plated in just the right way to show off their loveliness. . .

As a tribute to my fallen tilapia (i.e., I made it, then passed it over in favor of other meals, and now have to throw it out :( ), I present to you Baja Fish Tacos, pretty much exactly what I had been wanting to make with those delectable white fillets in my fridge. Now, it is too late. . . I don't know when I'll recover. . . ;)
